40th Celebration Plenary Session
Grand Ballroom A/B
03:40PM - 05:15PM
While we are celebrating this 40th IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy throughout the conference, this session is dedicated to dive into particular aspects of the past and the future of the symposium. Mathias Payer (SP'19 40th Celebration Chair) introduces the session with a brief analysis of past symposia, the ebb and flow of technical topics, and how the conference evolved over time. We then reflect on four decades of the symposium and glance into what the future may bring with five esteemed guests who helped shape our community: Peter Neumann (SP'82 program chair), Dorothy Denning (SP'84 program chair), Dick Kemmerer (SP'93 program chair), Deborah Frincke (SP'11 general chair), and Giovanni Vigna (SP'11 program chair).
