CALL FOR PAPERS: EC2ND 2011 7th European Conference on Computer Network Defense http://2011.ec2nd.org/ The 7th European Conference on Computer Network Defense is organized by Chalmers University of Technology and will take place in September 2011 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The theme of the conference is the protection of computer networks. The conference will draw participants from academia and industry in Europe and beyond to discuss hot topics in applied network and systems security. Important Dates --------------- * Submissions due: 4 July, 2011 * Accept.Notification: 4 August, 2011 * Final papers due: 19 August, 2011 * Conference dates: 6-7 September, 2011 Topics of Interest ------------------ EC2ND invites submissions presenting novel ideas at an early stage with the intention to act as a discussion forum and feedback channel for promising, innovative security research. While our goal is to solicit ideas that are not completely worked out, and might have challenging and interesting open questions, we expect submissions to be supported by some evidence of feasibility or preliminary quantitative results. This year we are especially interested in papers concerning the protection against attacks in "special environments" (such as the ICT component of the smart grid) or protection against attacks that could cause a large societal impact. Topics include but are not limited to: * Intrusion Detection * Denial-of-Service * Privacy Protection * Security Policy * Peer-to-Peer and Grid Security * Network Monitoring * Web Security * Vulnerability Management and Tracking * Network Forensics * Wireless and Mobile Security * Cryptography * Network Discovery and Mapping * Incident Response and Management * Malicious Software * Web Services Security * Legal and Ethical Issues Format of the submissions ------------------------- You are hereby invited to submit papers up to 6-8 pages, 8.5" x 11", two-column format. We particularly encourage position papers on preliminary work that shows promise, rather than mature and well-polished papers. Surprising results and thought-provoking ideas will be strongly favored. All submissions will be reviewed by the Program Committee. Authors of accepted papers will be given the option of including their paper in the proceedings of the conference, which will be published by IEEE. We suggest you to format your paper according to IEEE-CS guidelines: http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting Organizing Committee -------------------- * General & Program Chair Magnus Almgren, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden * Publication and Publicity Chair Stefano Zanero, Politecnico di Milano, Italy Program Committee ----------------- * Alfonso Valdes, SRI International, USA * Andrea Lanzi, Eurecom Institute, France * Carrie Gates, CA Labs, USA * Christian Platzer, Vienna University of Technology, Austria * Corrado Leita, Symantec Research Labs, France * David Malone, Hamilton Institute, Ireland * Dieter Gollmann, Hamburg University of Technology, Germany * Federico Maggi, Politecnico di Milano, Italy * Felix Freiling, University of Mannheim, Germany * Georgios Portokalidis, Columbia University, USA * Gilbert Wondracek, Vienna University of Technology, Austria * James Riordan, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, USA * John McHugh, RedJack LLC and University of North Carolina, USA * Klaus-Robert M=C3=BCller, TU Berlin, Germany * Konrad Rieck, TU Berlin, Germany * Marco Cova, University of Birmingham, USA * Marina Papatriantafilou, Chalmers, Sweden * Martin Johns, SAP Research, Germany * Michael Meier, University of Bonn, Germany * Nahid Shahmehri, Link=C3=B6ping University, Sweden * Robin Sommer, ICSI/LBNL, USA * Sonja Buchegger, KTH, Sweden * Stefan Lindskog, Karlstad University, Sweden * Svein Knapskog, NTNU, Norway * Sven Dietrich, Stevens Institute of Technology, USA * Tomas Olovsson, Chalmers, Sweden * Toralv Dirro, McAfee, Germany * Ulf Lindqvist, SRI International, USA * William Robertson, UC Berkeley, USA * Yiannis Stamatiou, University of Ioannina, Greece Steering Committee ----------------------------- * Andrew Blyth, University of Glamorgan, UK * Evangelos Markatos, FORTH-ICS and University of Crete, Greece * Panagiotis Trimintzios, ENISA, EU * Sotiris Ioannidis, FORTH-ICS, Greece * Stefano Zanero, Politecnico di Milano, Italy Organization Support ------------------------------- * Manolis Stamatogiannakis (FORTH-ICS, Greece)
