The 4th Brazilian Workshop on Security of Computing Systems (WSeg 2004) 
will be  held in conjunction with the  22th Brazilian Symposium on Com- 
puter Networks (SBRC 2004) on May 10, 2004 in Gramado.  The workshop is 
sponsored by the Brazilian Computer Society  and its main purpose is to 
promote discussions of  research and relevant activities  in  security- 
related subjects.  It also aims at increasing  the synergy between aca- 
demic and industry professionals working on this area.

TOPICS OF INTEREST

Authors are invited to submit papers describing research projects,  ex- 
perimental results and recent developments related, but not limited, to 
the following topics:

- Analysis of malicious code
- Analysis of network and security protocols
- Attacks against networks and machines
- Auditing
- Authentication and authorization of users, systems, and applications
- Biometry and biometric systems
- Computer forensics

INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Papers must be submitted electronically through the EDAS Conference Man- 
agement System web site (at http://soyuz.metropoa.tche.br/sbrc2004_wseg). 
They must be  written in  Portuguese or English and  contain at most 12 
pages, including abstract, figures, diagrams, references, etc.  The pa- 
per can be prepared using one of the templates available in the SBC web 
page (http://www.sbc.org.br/templates). The file must be necessarily in 
the postscript format  (use generic postscript) or PDF  (Portable Docu- 
ment Format).

IMPORTANT DATES 

Full Paper Due: 11/03/2004 (March 11, 2004)
Notification of Acceptance: 08/04/2004 (April 8, 2004)
Final Versions Due: 15/04/2004 (April 15, 2004)
