Nordsec2004: Call for Papers Important Dates Deadline for submission of papers: 2 August 2004 Notification of authors: 13 September 2004 Delivery of camera-ready papers by authors: 4 October 2004 Conference: 4-5 November 2004 1st Call for Papers NORDSEC 2004 8th Nordic Workshop on Secure IT Systems 4-5 Nobemver 2004, Espoo, Finland The NORDSEC workshops started in 1996 with the aim of bringing researchers and practitioners within computer security in the Nordic countries. The theme of the workshop has been applied security, i.e. all kinds of security issues that could encourage interchange and cooperation between the research community and the industrial/consumer community. NORDSEC 2004 is organised by Departement of Computer Science at Helsinki University of Technology. Possible topics include, but are not limited to the following: * Privacy and Privacy Enhancing Technologies * Wireless Communication Security * Inter/Intra/Extranet Security * Security Protocol Modeling and Analysis * E-and M-Business Security * New Firewall Technologies * Secure Infrastructures; TTP, PKI, Key Escrow/Recovery * Computer Crime and Information Warfare * Detecting Attacks, Intrusions and Computer Misuse * Smart Card Applications * Security Management and Audit * Security Evaluations and Measurements * Security in Commercial off-the-shelf Products, COTS * Operating System Security * Security Models * New Ideas and Paradigms for Security * Security Education and Training * Quality of Service or Software Engineering in Relation to Security The workshop will consist of paper sessions, panel discussions and invited talks. For the paper sessions, authors are invited to submit their papers electronically (in PDF- or Postscript- Format); please, use IEEE's templates for papers: http://www.ieee.org/organizations/pubs/transactions/stylesheets.htm Each paper must have an abstract, a list of keywords and should not exceed 8 pages including references. Papers must be written and presented in English and should be prepared for anonymous review. Both full version and anonymous version of the paper should be sent electronically before the deadline mentioned in the beginning of this call for paper to: nordsec2004@tml.hut.fi Selection for presentation at the workshop and publication in the proceedings will be based on originality, contribution to the field, and relevance to the workshop. The workshop proceedings will be distributed at the workshop.
