The 2012 symposium will mark the 33rd annual meeting of this flagship conference. Since 1980, the IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy has been the premier forum for presenting developments in computer security and electronic privacy, and for bringing together researchers and practitioners in the field. The symposium will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

The panel discussion on Wednesday afternoon will be titled: "How can a focus on "science" advance research in cybersecurity?". Discussion will be moderated by Carl Landwehr. See the program for a detailed description and list of distinguished panelists.
