Technical Committee: Security and Privacy Technical Committee Budget Request for (year): 2007 Is this an amendment to an already approved budget? No Date Submitted: November 22, 2006 TC Expenses Printing, Binding & Mailing: (newsletter and other correspondence to members) N/A Meeting Expenses: (meeting room rental, refreshments, equipment, etc.) N/A Travel: (TAB meetings, TC meetings) TC Chair, TAB meeting $1000 TC Co-Chair, TAB Meeting $1500 Awards and Recognition: (volunteer/student awards for TC or conference) N/A Operating Expenses (supplies, telephone, letterhead, etc.) Website hosting: $250 New TC Initiatives: (please specify) N/A Other (please list below): Portable printer/copier for use onsite at Security and Privacy Symposium: $300 The printer will allow us to save about $200/yr on copying costs. The hotel business center has outrageous per page rates. Software, Adobe Acrobat Professional: $800 We will produce a CD with the full history of the SP conference this year, using volunteer labor. Adobe Acrobat is the best way to produce a full text search index. We have tested it using a 30-day license and feel that it is superior to any other indexing that we know of. SP symposium CD Production: $1000 This is the cost for having CD's stamped, packaged, and shipped. CSFW CD Production: $4000 The Computer Security Foundations Workshop CD will require production work from a professional CD editing house. The total cost will be about $6000, so we are proposing a subsidy to offset the cost for the 90 or so expected participants in the 2007 workshop. Student travel grant for SP symposium: $500 Current TC Entitlement: (please refer to the most recent TC Entitlement Report for the Quarterly Mailing): Approximately $9570 Total Request: $8350 Difference: (amount over or under entitlement figure): under $220 Note: For all funds requested you should provide details on how those funds will be spent. Note: TC Entitlements are based on conference surpluses, CS Press products and (potentially) other services to members for which a pre-negotiated "feedback loop" has been established. TC Entitlements will change as the final reports of these efforts are made.
